What type of deck has the lowest cost of ownership?

The Low Cost Solution

Let’s be honest- everyone wants a low cost deck. A deck installer's job is to present several options, and guide the home owner to make an informed decision that both they and their wallet can live with.

  • Wood Plastic Composite decks- They're eco friendly and long lasting, there's no doubt. However they hurt the wallet!
  • Standard pressure-treated wood decks- by itself isn’t a major investment but the maintenance... are they really going to sand, scrape and stain the deck EVERY YEAR? I didn't think so. More like every 5. By that time, the damage has been done, and you might as well rip it all off. Not to mention, homeowners are stuck with splinters, heat buildup, chemical wood preservatives, gaps in the boards, substructure deterioration, sublayer erosion, and tedious tasks we all know they'd rather not deal with.
  • IntelliDeck is only slightly more expensive to install than a pressure treated deck but the very first time that you scrape, sand, stain the pressure treated deck (or pay someone to do so), then it becomes more expensive than IntelliDeck.

Why not be happy right from the start? Home owners need with an efficient, sustainable solution that keeps them from having lots of yearly maintenance.

As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I’d love to chat with you about it!

Have a great week,
